Findable is using artificial intelligence through machine learning to sort out the construction paper mill. Traditionally contractors and sub-contractors delivered all documentation in paper or usb disks, usually a large mix of unstructured folders. From their initial success, Findable wanted to expand the scope of their service - while still keeping the original product. Building on top of the foundational algorithm and a low-fidelity sketch we helped Findable design the new product. We merged with their development team and worked closely together every day.

From the initial sketch of the new service, we were able to pare this down to fewer screens for the customer, allowing most work to be done from one main project page. Here the user can invite contractors, manage sorted files and verify incoming files.

Together with the product management at Findable we discussed ways of incorporating the original product with this new offering as different tiers of one service. This allows Findable to sell their service to contractors dealing with updating documents for finished buildings (original product) and also cater to new builds in the new product.

Working closely with the development team we decided to use the Evergreen UI design system as a baseline for the user interface. This allowed us quickly ramp up and start making interaction designs, and the development team would already have most components ready from the library codebase. On top of this we made brand adjustments to make sure it would better fit the Findable look.
